doogie is on the phone
"Hello. You've reached the voicemail of Dr. Doogie Howser. I'm unavailable at the moment, but when you hear the beep, you should know what to do."

*beep!*

doogie is researching something
Doogie had been in Fandom long enough to know two and a half things:

1. Periods of quiet never last that long.
2. When it rains, it pours.
2b. You're always lucky if the rain is really just water.

He flipped through the letters he'd received over the weekend, one right after another. A job offer at a pediatric hospital back in Los Angeles. A note informing him that someone had finally been hired to manage the clinic in Fandom. A letter from his mother that poorly hid how much she missed him. He'd read each of them half a dozen times, and kept going through them even as he'd started quietly packing.

The fact was, as much as he liked it here, Fandom just didn't feel like where he was supposed to be. As he finished putting the last of his things in his bags, he wrote a note to Tyler, explaining the situation, and thanking him for everything. Maybe the pediatric hospital wouldn't work out. Maybe his parents would start driving him crazy again. But no matter what, Doogie knew he'd be back where he belonged. The people here were going to have a new doctor to take care of them, and he would be home.

[Establishy. As of this post, Doogie is officially out of Fandom. *sniffle*]
